Around 60 team members from Galloper Offshore Wind Farm Ltd cycled or walked along the Suffolk coastline on Wednesday (20th July) raising over £10,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity.
Blessed by good weather, the Galloper project team, partners and contractors completed either a 60 mile cycle ride from Felixstowe to Lowestoft, or an 18 mile walk from Dunwich to Leiston, raising vital funds for the helicopter emergency medical service.
Toby Edmonds, Galloper Wind Farm Project Director, says, “We had a great day and I’m very proud the team did so well, particularly given the heat! We’re really happy to have been able to support the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and we hope the money raised can help them continue their important, life-saving work across the region.”
Cyclists and walkers convened at the end of the event at Galloper’s new Offshore Construction Coordination Base in Lowestoft, which opened at the OGN facility at the Associated British Ports base in June. Participants were treated to a BBQ and a cheque giving ceremony took place.
