A young owl was rescued by workers on the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm after it was found residing on board the project installation vessel, the Pacific Orca, earlier this month. He was safely delivered ashore into the experienced hands of the RSPB and is reported to have now happily been rehomed.
Owls are no strangers to life at sea. Long-eared and short-eared owls regularly migrate to Britain from Scandinavia and either pass through or stay for the winter with previous reports of owls resting temporarily on oil rigs in the North Sea.
