GWFL confirms plans for Operations & Maintenance Base
4 Nov, 2016

Galloper Wind Farm Ltd today (Friday 4th November) confirmed they are pursuing planning permission in relation to an Operations & Maintenance Base in Harwich.

Toby Edmonds, Galloper Wind Farm, Project Director said:

“We have recently agreed a lease in principle with Harwich International Port for the Galloper Operations & Maintenance base and are currently pursuing planning permission in relation to this.  Following the redesign of the project in 2015 we considered a number of options in relation to the Operations & Maintenance base and Harwich meets the project’s specific requirements.  Galloper Wind Farm is also supported by our Offshore Construction Coordination Base at the Port of Lowestoft, our onshore substation base in Sizewell, and the turbine assembly base, currently in construction, at Great Yarmouth.”

Innogy SE is leading the development and construction of Galloper on behalf of the project’s partners and have agreed a lease in principle with Harwich International Port for the O&M base and associated infrastructure.  Consultation is currently ongoing in relation to the proposals and it is expected the planning application will be submitted to Tendring District Council in the next couple of weeks.
