Galloper Wind Farm supports Parkeston Christmas Party for second year
27 Jan, 2023

In December 2023 the Parkeston Welfare Park and Residents Association hosted 135 children and their families for their annual Christmas party marking the beginning of festivities for many.

The event is free for children and families to attend, supported through businesses like Galloper and this year meant that they could enhance the winter wonderland experience as well increase the amount of attendees. Our £750 donation ensured each child received a wrapped present following their visit to Father Christmas’ grotto. Guests enjoyed fairground rides, a snow machine and each child decorated a wooden bauble to be displayed during the event.

Galloper General Manager Sean Chenery said “Supporting organisations like Parkeston Welfare Park, particularly at Christmas, is really important to us. It’s great to know that more children could be involved this year and that a fantastic time was had by all.”

The Parkeston Welfare Park was purchased in 1923 by three local gentlemen who re-mortgaged their homes to provide local children with a safe area to play. The park remains privately owned by Parkeston village and run by a committee of volunteers.
