Every child received a gift at the “best Christmas party” from a cash donation by Galloper Offshore Wind Farm.
More than 100 children aged 10 and under enjoyed festive fun at a covid-safe outdoor party at Parkeston Welfare Park.
Galloper’s £500 donation funded a present for every child when they met Father Christmas in his grotto at the party that included a snow-machine and lots of games.
Organiser Bill Davidson said he was “over the moon” with party.
“It was absolutely brilliant. Everyone had huge fun. We’ve been holding these parties for six years now and obviously had to miss last year’s because of Covid.
“We were determined this one would go ahead and decided to hold it outside to be safe. This was the best one. We will continue to hold them outside as it offered so much more scope.”

Bill paid special tribute to his wife, Tracey, who “works miracles” by making costumes, creating decorations and planning to make events run smoothy.
“She built Santa’s grotto and puts so much time in to making everything so special for the children.”

“Everyone in our community, especially children, have had a tough time through the pandemic. To be able to support such a wonderful event for children to have an afternoon of festive fun at a real Christmas party was a priority for our community activity.”
Parkeston Welfare Park was purchased in 1923 by three men remortgaging their private homes to provide a safe play area.
Since 2011 it has had a new multi-use games area, children’s play area, outdoor gym, football pitch and nature park.
