Nominations are now open for the Tendring Blue Ribbon Business Awards 2019, including for the new category of Sustainability and Environment, which is sponsored by Galloper Offshore Wind Farm.
The Tendring Blue Ribbon Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate the achievements of local businesses and groups and highlight their contributions to the wider Tendring area.
Main organisers of the initiative and the October 3 awards night are Jamesons, Barclays and Tendring District Council, while Galloper has sponsored the newly introduced Sustainability and Environment Award.
The Galloper-sponsored award was introduced this year to celebrate a local business that has shown a commitment to sustainability and care for the environment through its products, services or in the way it operates.
Galloper Operations and Maintenance Manager, Sean Chenery said: “As an offshore wind farm we are supporting the UK’s low carbon future through the generation of renewable energy and we are keen to support other businesses that also work hard to play a role in contributing to a greener future”.
“I would like to encourage anyone who knows of local Tendring businesses, organisations or individuals deserving recognition for their environmental contributions or achievements to nominate them for the award.”
Along with Environment and Sustainability, the award categories are: Tradesperson of the Year; Start up Business; Business in the Community; Entrepreneur of the Year; Customer Excellence; Retailer of the Year; Employee of the Year; Hospitality and Leisure; Employer of the Year; Innovation in Design & Technology; Apprentice of the Year; Team of the Year; Health and Wellbeing, and the Judges Award.
Nominations can be made via the Tendring Blue Ribbon Awards website with closing date for entries by Friday 12 July 2019.
